Sharing Memories is FUN!

Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Chevrolet Volt, and Tammie Radikopf.
Hmmm …. what do these all have in common? Do ya know? Can you tell me??

We’re all HYBRID’s! You’re probably falling off your chair laughing now .. you know … picturing some small fuel saving compact car with Tammie’s face on it 🙂

The dictionary defines “hybrid” being powered by more than one source of power. I may not be the fuel saving type of hybrid but when it comes to my scrapbooking let me tell you I SO fit the definition.

My love of scrapbooking is first off powered by the traditional method of paper, scissors, glue, and my sweet ole Silhouette SD.  But – I must say – that I am equally stoked and powered by high tech digital methods as well. And sometimes … dare I say it … I even walk on the wild side and COMBINE the two. Doh!

Being a hybrid is what brings us to today’s post.  Not too long ago I was fortunate enough to discover a digital scrapbooking software that really rocks! It’s called My Memories Suite and I love it. It’s perfect for a beginner to use … or it can even be used by the “pro” to build a scrapbook album masterpiece.

Now, I’m not new to digital scrapbooking.  I’ve used programs online and I’ve used programs that I personally own.  While each have a special place in my heart I must add this one to my list of favs.  #1 reason being it’s VERY user friendly and so full of options.

You can make a beautiful scrapbook album … or you can actually make customized gifts from calendars to mousepads to aprons to buttons to … well imagine it and it’s possible.  All with just a few clicks in a VERY easy to understand software.

And … guess what … they are letting me give away one copy FREE! Cha-ching!!  Yep, one of you lucky readers will be able to win a FULL Working version of this software for your very own!  But we’ll talk about that in a minute.  First, let me show you how I did a scrapbook page with this software … in less than 1 hour!

You start by opening up the My Memories Suite Software.  Now, right off the bat the options are almost limitless.  First, you COULD choose one of many from their pre-made templates. These things rock and all you have to do then is just drag & drop your papers, images, and embellishments onto the page and be done in probably less than 15 minutes. It’s so user friendly and easy.

However, I always have to do things the hard way and be different. It’s who I am. So I [gulp] chose “blank page” and started from scratch! Told you I walk on the wild side of things 🙂

After you select “blank page” this is the next screen you will see.  Just type in the name of your page/album and what size you want it to be and press “ok”.

Now for the fun stuff.  First up was to choose my paper. Now, the software comes with papers at installation … but if you don’t see what you like you can also order with just a few clicks from their online store. Or here’s what sold ME on the software … you can even use a digital paper that you might have on hand from your other scrapbooking software.

Over the years I have collected quite a stash of digital scrapbooking supplies and with My Memories I am able to use EVERY.ONE.OF.THEM. Double cha-ching!

Once my paper was in place I then chose a template of how I wanted my pictures laid out. So many to pick from.  What to do??  Just click on one and done!  Once the template was placed onto the page I very easily “matted” the pictures as well.

Next up, text.

Again, click of a few buttons. Done.

After that I decided my page needed some oompf.

I quickly imported a few images from my personal stash and used a few from the My Memories stash. Moved them all around until I liked what I saw.

And I got my finished product!!

What do you think?? Not bad for my very first My Memories Page … in less than one hour.  Literally did this while sitting at karate waiting on son-of-mine.  I Could not believe how quick and easy it was!!

And just to wet your whistle and keep you drooling … over the next few weeks/months I’ll randomly post some tutorials on differnt ways to use this software. One aspect I can’t wait to try is the “add music” button. Say what??!! I can add music to my scrapbook page?? Then email it out and share it on social media?? How rocking cool is that??
